Where things stand
Since 27 August 2026, compliant plug-in solar devices have had a legal Great Britain route (England, Scotland and Wales — Northern Ireland has separate arrangements). “Compliant” means the device meets the government's Interim Product Specification and carries matching ENA register evidence; plug-in battery systems are outside the route. You register the device through the ENA's myplugin.solar portal, and one device per household is the current limit.
