Kit Compliance Checklist

Use this before buying a plug-in solar kit. The aim is to avoid buying something that can't be G98-notified cleanly.

Evidence to look for

The seller clearly says the kit is for the Great Britain plug-in solar route.
The kit is not a battery-integrated plug-in solar product under the first IPS route (no plug-in batteries, no battery-integrated devices).
The product output is within the stated apparent power/current route (max 800 VA, max 3.5 A).
The plug is a BS 1363 type approved by a notified body (not a generic travel adaptor or aftermarket plug).
The manufacturer provides a declaration of compliance with the Interim Product Specification (IPS).
The kit does not rely on extension leads, multi-way adaptors, or RCD plug adaptors between the inverter and the wall socket.
Only one plug-in solar device is installed per household (current G98 restriction).
The mounting surface is not a prohibited building surface (ACM, MCM, HPL, or timber cladding, or timber balconies).
The manufacturer provides inverter make, model and product evidence.
The product can be checked against ENA / Connect Direct information.
The retailer wording does not rely only on vague terms such as "ready" or "expected".

Don't rely on product hype

“Expected”, “coming soon” and “UK ready” are not the same as current evidence. Check the kit readiness guide before generating a G98 notification.
